My father always told me, “Do what you love, and you’ll never work a day in your life.” For me, that love has always been baseball.
Over the past decade, baseball has taken me from collegiate and Minor League clubs to the Dominican Republic and eventually Major League Baseball headquarters in New York. Along the way, I became fluent in Spanish and developed a passion for player evaluation, development, and the process of identifying talent.
My experience includes player development in the Dominican Republic with the Athletics organization, Baseball Systems Operations with Hawk-Eye, and Replay Operations at Major League Baseball.
During my time in the Dominican Republic, I served as a Spanish-language liaison between the Latin American players and the American coaches, helping bridge communication gaps while supporting player development.
My baseball interests center on scouting, player development, biomechanics, and video analysis. I enjoy studying how players move, how they develop, and why some prospects reach their potential while others do not. While statistics and technology provide valuable information, I believe the most meaningful evaluations come from combining observation, context, and evidence.
Hank’s Hot Corner began as a baseball blog and has evolved into a platform focused primarily on scouting reports, prospect evaluation, draft analysis, and player development. My goal is not to repeat consensus opinions, but to develop independent evaluations and contribute thoughtfully to the conversation surrounding the game.
As a fluent Spanish speaker, I am also committed to making baseball analysis accessible to a broader audience and highlighting talent from across the baseball world.
And for those who enjoy baseball trivia, at seven feet tall, I was the tallest batboy in professional baseball history (probably).
